There are many different terms for the different types of fonts there are on a computer. As you can see in my picture it illustrates these different types. For one italics is when the letter is slightly slanted, or the ascender is the part of the letter that sticks upwards outside of the x-height, like the h, and the descender is the part that sticks below the x-height, like the g. Sans-serif is the type of font that has all smooth sides on all of its letters while serif is when they have semi-structured details on the ends of the letters. The x-height is the height of the lower case x from the top to the bottom which most lower case letters all fit. Typography can be very helpful to show or express writing in a different way which can evoke a different feeling from just the font type.
Are you aware of what agreements you have entered into with Facebook or other social networking sites? Yes I am currently aware of the new settings on facebook. This article is talking about how many people are complaining about the new settings on facebook and that they should change. They say that the settings are set too loosely and that they should be changed. Ultimately it is the fault of the person who has the facebook for not reviewing their new settings. If they accepted these new terms they should read over what they are accepting rather than just accepting it not knowing what they are agreeing too. I think that facebook is not at fault although their new default settings are set loosely, they simply just want to spread net working and want to make it so other people can find you on facebook like long lost friends or distant reletives. If each individual person does not agree with the settings that have been set by facebook it is up to them to change it themselves not to blame facebook for this new default settings. I know many of the new regulators strongly appose them but they should realize that facebook again is not at fault. It is the individual that should change what they do or do not want to be seen by the public. But i do see their side of the story. It is a problem in this country that their are many dangerous people trying to find women or just others to stalk and that they are trying to eliminate that by setting more difficult default settings that will eliminate that, but some people are different than others and only allow certain information that others may or may not give out aswell. Again it is up to the individual to set their own settings not just rely on facebook to do it for them, they are the only ones at fault here and shouldnt try to penalize facebook for their faults, if they didnt like the new settings that are now in place then they shouldnt have accepted the new terms of agreement that facebook has set as their default, or atleast should have read through them before accepting them.
The semantic web is an evolving development of the Web in which the meaning of information and services on the web is defined, making it possible for the web to "understand" and satisfy the requests of people and machines to use the web content. It derives from World Wide Web Consortium director Sir Tim Berners-Lee vision of the Web as a universal medium for data, information, and knowledge exchange. At its core, the semantic web comprises a set of design principles, collaborative working groups, and a variety of enabling technologies. Some elements of the semantic web are expressed as prospective future possibilities that are yet to be implemented or realized. Other elements of the semantic web are expressed in formal specifications. Some of these include Resource Description Framework (RDF), a variety of data interchange formats and notations such as RDF Schema (RDFS) and to Web ontology language, all of which are intended to provide a formal description of concepts, terms and relationships within a given knowledge domain.
Where Web 2.0 is focused on people, the Semantic Web is focused on machines. The Web requires a human operator, using computer systems to perform the tasks required to find, search and aggregate its information. It's impossible for a computer to do these tasks without human guidance because Web pages are specifically designed for human readers. The Semantic Web is a project that aims to change that by presenting Web page data in such a way that it is understood by computers, enabling machines to do the searching, aggregating and combining of the Web's information — without a human operator.

Colors have different meanings in psychology and color therapy. For example red was used to stimulate the body and mind and increase circulation. Yellow was thought to stimulate the nerves and purify the body, orange was used to heal the lungs and increase energy levels, blue was though to soothe illness and treat pain, and indigo was though to alleviate skin problems. In different cultures, these colors could mean somethnig completely different. For example red in Austrailian Aborigilans means Land or earth while in the Celtic it means death or afterlife. Or in yellow to the Cherokee means trouble or strife while in China it means nourishing and royalty. Depending on the culture these different colors can mean different things, but when you look at it from a psycologial standpoint what it makes ur brain and body think can be completely different from what these cultures preceve them to be.
Network neutrality is the idea that Internet users should control what they see and what apps the use on the internet Net neutrality is the idea that everyone should have equal acess to the internet. Also that there should be no restrictions on content, sites, or platforms on the kinds of equiptment that may be attached, and on the modes of communication allowed, as well as communication that is not unreasonably degraded by other traffic. The principle says that if a given user pays for a certain level of internet access, and another user pays for a given level of access, that the two users should be able to connect to each other at the subscribed level of acess. Neutrality proponents claim that telecom companies seek to impose a tiered service model in order to control the pipeline and thereby remove competition, create artificial scarcity, and oblige subscribers to buy their otherwise uncompetitive services. Many believe net neutrality to be primarily important as a preservation of current freedoms. Opponents of net neutrality characterize its regulations as "a solution in search of a problem", arguing that broadband service providers have no plans to block content or degrade network performance. In spite of this claim, certain Internet service providers have intentionally slowed peer to peer communications. Still, other companies have acted in contrast to these assertions of hands-off behavior and have begun to use deep packet inspection, free-to-telecom "value added" services, and bundling.Critics of net neutrality also argue that data discrimination of some kinds, particularly to guarantee quality of service, is not problematic, but is actually highly desirable. Bob Kahn has called the term net neutrality a "slogan" and states that he opposes establishing it.
Do you feel that this type of site is good or bad? For what purpose? I think this site is good and bad at the same time. Its bas because it provokes a type of behavior where people talk behind each others backs and says its okay to laugh and point at other people in public and make fun of them just because they do not look exactly like you. It also can be embarasing if you realize that you made it on to this web site and people are making fun of you openly on the internet without your consent. I also think it can be a good thing because it makes people laugh at some of the ridiculous things that others wear to a typical store. Also when you cant really see the faces of these people no one can really know who it is if your just looking at the person from behind or just of their body so no one will really know. Do you feel that widespread technology (enabling society to do this) is positive or negative? I think the wide spread of technology is also a good and bad thing at the same time. I think its bad because if something embarrassing or bad happens to someone its easier to spread that information to more people within minutes. It is also a good thing because you can spread the world news within minutes as well through the internet or the tv or phones, so if a natural disaster happens or a bombing then you can spread the news to the world. What are some ways that you think our global community could use the technologies we have available for good? Some ways that our global community can use technologies for good is detecting the weather and spreading news about what is going on in our world within minutes.
